We had our first day using Maya today. A leap into the world of 3D animation, with our assigned task of bouncing a ball for the next day, we were taking baby steps. As we used the software I was impressed with how little you had to to to achieve a result but if you did miss something in the process it would be very easy to get mixed up. I managed to make a couple of bouncing balls and got a good idea of the tools that we were using. I tried to experiment with things creating random documents of flying and resizing shapes which was fun, it seems that the more mistakes you make the more you learn. I did attempt to squash and stretch the balls but failed and decided to wait for our lesson the next day.We also have a task for next week to create a pecha kucha, ours is to be on Tim Burton, I’m excited to the research on him because I really like his work.
